What they say about us...

Every year, after the marathon, we are used to print and post in our office the e-mailsthat are sent by the runners who took part in the marathon. It's a tradition that helps us to stay focused and re-start immediately with the organization of the following year's race, to make it even better. We decided to share with you some of the messages we received...

" Bonjour, j'ai participé en 2009 au venicemarathon, et je serais probablement là en 2010. Je tiens à vous féliciter pour l'organisation qui était grandiose. J'ai particulièrement apprécié le nombre de bénévoles derrière la ligne d'arrivée, ou je me suis vraiment senti "chouchouté" une fois passé la ligne. "

" Good morning marathon committee, I hope this email finds you all rested after last Sunday's event, which by the way, was absolutely amazing! It is my wish to request something of you... "

" Thank you for the organisation of this fabulous race, I would like to know how many runners were running last sunday and how many in my category (more than 55 years old). Thank you again. "

" Congratulations, you did it! No, I don't say this to an atlete, but to the organisational committee of the 24th Venice marathon. As participant I really enjoyed the race. Almost everything was perfectly arranged: the website with plenty of information, the marathon expo, the race itself (what a superb atmosphere), the finisher area... While running I lost count the many music groups I met on the road. The huge crowd supporting the atletes gave every time an extra boost. In combination with the beautiful weather and the magic city this race is one that I will remember a long time. Two little things you can improve the next race: it's a lot easier for an athlete that during the race an aid station is announced 100 m in advance (also which side of the road the aid station is) and that each aid station has the same order to offer water, fruit, ... But notice that this are really details in an almost perfect organisation. (And no, it was not my first marathon so I can compare.) I love the beautiful city of Venice and its superb marathon. "

" I want to thank you for this fantastic weekend. The organization of the marathon was the best I've ever seen. You made last sunday to one of the best of my life and I'm sure to start in 2010 again. Thanks. "

25th Venicemarathon: registration is open

Registrations for the 2010 Venicemarathon, the 25th anniversary edition, are open and going very well. For the first time, we decided to open registration the day after the marathon and the response of the runners has been quick and exciting.

We look forward to reach the maximum entry cap (6,000 entries) even earlier than last year, when the marathon was sold out in August. Please remember that this year also, a supplementary amount of 1,000 charity bibs will be made available.
