Good bye Franco, “king” of the delivery of the bib numbers!

Franco Casamatti - an essential person of the organization even though not too much visible - has left our family.

He was a person in charge of an important, delicate and hard role, that he had always carried out with great professionalism. He was always in touch with the marathoners, who sometimes forced him to reluctantly deny the delivery of the bib number to those athletes who couldn’t participate in the marathon due to the lack of the requirements to take part in the marathon. His skill was that he did it always without giving up the smile and the joke. We hug his family and we want to remember him while checking the envelopes of the race numbers behind the desk of the delivery of the bib numbers… a photo that we will take in our heart forever. Good bye Franco!

The number of drinking water wells dug in Uganda reach number 8 and Venicemarathon was able to put a smile on the face of 5 children, Alex Zanardi’s friends, giving them as a gift offered by its marathoners and friends the prosthesis they were in need of

Celebrations for the 25th anniversary: after the news that the race course will pass through St. Mark’s Sq. the first good news are that other 2 new drinking water wells have been dug in Uganda.

Besides runners who ran for the Alex Zanardi’s association and "Bimbingamba" have allowed the preparation of the prosthesis and the full assistance at the Budrio hospital to 5 children coming from Kosovo, Morocco, Moldavia, Romania and Chad.

On Saturday 4^th September at Piazza Mazzini (Mazzini Square) in Jesolo THE R.U.N. by Powerade starts again its tour, in collaboration with the Jesolo City Council and Venicemarathon. This meeting has not to be missed both for the Venetian runners and for the tourists who are crowding the Jesolo beach and want to take this opportunity to train to be ready for the 25^th edition of the Venicemarathon.
