Registrations boom for the 37th Wizz Air Venicemarathon 42K-21K-10K on October 22nd. There are still the last 520 bibs available for the half marathon, while the total registered have exceeded 8,200, of which over 30% are foreigners

Venice, 5 June 2023 - About 4 months after the appointment on Sunday 22 October with the 37th Wizz Air Venicemarathon 42K-21K-10K, the bibs available in the half marathon are already running out! The new distance, included in the Venicemarathon program only since last year, once again this year records a high approval rating from runners from all over the world, to the point that now only 520 bibs remain of the 3,000 available, after which the registrations for this race will be permanently closed. A counter on the site updates its availability in real time.

Therefore, there is enthusiasm in the Venicemarathon house, also for the registrations for the other two distances, the marathon and the 10K, which are proceeding at full speed. To date, in fact, the total number of members has already exceeded 8,200 and of these, over 30% is represented by foreign athletes.

On the other hand, participating in the Wizz Air Venicemarathon means experiencing the thrill of running along a route full of charm, history, art and culture, which winds from Stra to the heart of Venice, retracing and crossing places of rare beauty such as the Riviera del Brenta, with its famous and characteristic eighteenth-century villas that are reflected on the river, the evocative and colorful historic center of Mestre, the green avenues of the San Giuliano Park that overlook the lagoon, to then reach the longed-for Venice.

Like last year, the three races will have different starting locations: the marathon will start from Villa Pisani in Stra, the half marathon near Piazza Ferretto in Mestre and the 10K from Parco San Giuliano, also in Mestre. The latter will then converge on the same route as the 42K, forming a long and colorful snake up to the coveted finish line of Riva Sette Martiri in Venice.

The Wizz Air Venicemarathon will, as always, be an event also within the reach of families and companions following the marathon runners, who will be able to experience and breathe the atmosphere of the great event by participating in the Alì Family Run in the San Giuliano Park in Mestre, the non-competitive race approximately 3 kilometres, open to all and which will develop along the green avenues of the park, where the Wizz Air Venicemarathon Village will also be built. This promotional event will represent the last stage of a circuit which in October will involve 5 municipalities in the metropolitan city of Venice and will involve over 20,000 people.

Over 200 pacers from all over the world will also be at the service of the athletes in the three distances of 42K-21K-10K, to help the competitors run within the desired times and reach the finish line with a smile on their face. Being a pacer at the Venicemarathon has now become a very coveted and trendy role, to the point that this year too the 'Craft Pacing Team' has received many applications from foreign athletes. Soon all the team members will be presented on the event's social networks.

The Wizz Air Venicemarathon, as always, is also an important event for solidarity. The 2023 Charity Program is at the starting line which will allow many non-profit organizations to raise awareness of athletes and the public on projects of social importance and raise funds useful for their implementation, through the crowdfunding mechanism promoted together with the Rete del Dono platform and thanks to which over 1,000,000 euros have been raised over the years.

As already announced, from this year the Venice Marathon is entitled 'Wizz Air Venicemarathon', thanks to an agreement with the third largest Italian airline and the most sustainable globally*, which joins the Venicemarathon family as title sponsor. Venicemarathon then turns pink and welcomes Wizz Air, an international airline which, thanks to its numerous routes connecting Venice to the main capitals of Europe, the Middle East and many other destinations, will contribute to widening the borders of Venicemarathon and internationalize the event even further, contributing to sports tourism that can also become an important resource for the local area.

In addition to Wizz Air, several companies have already confirmed their commitment to the event: Alì, Honda, Pro Action, San Benedetto, 1/6H Sport, Bavaria, Palmisano, Diabasi, Master Aid, Massigen, Dole, Rio Mare, 3B Meteo, APVInvestimenti, the Port System Authority of the Northern Adriatic Sea Ports of Venice and Chioggia and the media partners Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport.
