'Road to 37^ Wizz Air Venicemarathon' - the dream turn into reality!

Fifteen weeks to turn the dream of running the 37th Wizz Air Venicemarathon into reality!

The 15-week training program 'Road to 37^ Wizz Air Venicemarathon 42K' starts on 10 July, conceived by the organizers of the Venice Marathon in collaboration with the former middle-distance blue Andrea Giocondi and dedicated to all those who have run at least a 10K and aspire to cross the finish line of one of the most fascinating 42K in the world.

Venice, 20 June 2023 - For many, running the Venice Marathon is more of a chimera than a dream, due to the fear that the distance itself arouses, especially in the eyes of those who have never tried it.

From this awareness and from the desire to offer everyone the opportunity to aspire to cross the finish line of Riva Sette Martiri in Venice on 22 October, the 'Road to 37^ Wizz Air Venicemarathon 42K' project was born: a training program of 15 weeks, free and accessible to all, promoted by Venicemarathon with the collaboration of former Italian middle-distance runner and Fidal coach Andrea Giocondi. Since last year, Giocondi has also held the role of Venicemarathon 'Top Runners' coordinator and the technical results obtained (new men's record of the race in 2h08'10 ") demonstrate the great quality of his work and of the marathon route.

The objective of 'Road to Wizz Venicemarathon' is to encourage all those who have already tried the distance of 10 kilometers, to go further and prepare themselves in the best possible way, in a few weeks, to face one of the most fascinating marathons in the world with a smile on their lips .

From 10 July to 22 October, Andrea Giocondi will share on the official website and through the Venicemarathon social channels his best programming aimed at the 37th Wizz Air Venicemarathon, divided into cycles: introductory, extensive, intensive and recovery. He will also dispense technical advice, insights and details during live streaming which will gradually be organised, always through social media, in view of the various work cycles. Furthermore, before the start of the introductory cycle, there is also a start-up test to customize the reference rhythms and the organizers recommend making the most of these weeks too, to get ready for the beginning of the cycle.

Again on a bi-weekly basis, the project will also host tables and advice related to the sphere of nutrition, hydration and recovery by Dr. Federico Scarso, nutritionist biologist, expert in sports nutrition and nutrition of the ProAction team, 'nutritional partner ' by Venicemarathon.
